I have reluctantly been engrossed in a mightily avalanche of schoolwork and piano tutoring as of late. To take off my academic cloche for a little while: it’s high time for a weekly dose of frivolity in the form of making collages that are congruent to my personal taste and style. I have created five seamlessly simple ensembles à la Fleurette melded with this immaculate, utterly coveted jacket from Balenciaga.
As you may have noticed, my collages are always composed of the same items. It is by no means synonymous with being barren of creativity. In terms of style and clothing, I gravitate towards a sense of consistency. Once you have found your signature style, consistency in that style is essential.

Ah, that jacket looks absolutely wonderful. Comes with quite the pricetag, I'm sure. Are you planning on saving for this particular jacket?
ReplyDeleteLovely combinations!
- Jessica: I don't think this particular jacket is available any longer. The price is roughly 2000 euros or something. I do think that I spotted this jacket on sale somewhere..
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat way to show the versatility of the jacket. Looks like it would be a perfect purchase. Timeless as well. Love the asymmetry of the front closure!
ReplyDeleteInspiring. The last collage is just wonderfully perfect.
ReplyDeleteYour style and taste is immaculate.
ReplyDeleteAnd you have such great taste in literature (and movies and books!) as well. Love your blog <3
Flotte collager, Fleurette!
ReplyDeleteI like how you include items that aren't fashion-related (e.g. the books, the bottle of red wine). It shows you indeed have a consistency in your (life-)style.
ReplyDeleteI love your collages! That Celine bag (from the third collage) and the Isabel Marant jeans look perfect.
ReplyDeleteI'm saving all of these! :)
ReplyDeleteBonjour ma belle,
ReplyDeletedo you know if these repetto boots are still available? I saw them a few times on your collages, but didn't find them on the repetto site. I think they're wonderful!! I'm looking for black boots with a black heel...
Bisous, S
i've been looking for a double-breasted jacket but am a little concerned if i should look for a certain cut that won't look too granny if it's worn low, or if i could carry off cropped ones.. etc. etc. any thoughts on this? thanks.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pertinent and inspiring collage that is yet a complete mirror of your style.
ReplyDeleteThis styling is superb. Someone is feeling for the lace, wireless brassieres. LOVEit. I want some new underwear. And those suede Zara pumps ♥
ReplyDeleteLove your point about keeping consistency when you find your style. It is so elemental, but really the key! I think that may be why some people don't ever really find their style; they first have a problem in picking one style idea and then get lost in the execution of it (thus muting the message). Great post!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the lovely comments!! :D
ReplyDelete- Anonymous: The assymetry of the closure is gorgeous!!
- Jules Winnfield: Takk!
- Sophie: Bonsoir Sophie! Alas, they are not available any longer. Those Repettos are from 2009! :-(
- 十十f十: Definitely not cropped. Cropped jackets rarely look good on anyone except for supermodels. Have you seen the double-breasted jackets from Ralph Lauren? I think they are lovely.
- Jessie: Me too. I can't wait till I'm going back to Paris. Le Bon Marche has the best lingerie selection.
- Missone: Thank you! You're right. + people easily get sidetracked by fleeting trends.
every outfit is so great, balenciaga make some of the best jackets..i really wish i had that Boy by Band Of Outsiders shirt
ReplyDeletegreat jacket! and the outfits too. love the balenciaga and celine bag.
ReplyDeleteMy beef with my la perla is that the straps are too long, they slip constantly. I have to use one of those little plastic things, it takes away from their magic... :/
ReplyDeleteI love the soft juxtaposition of textures in your collages... Faliero Sarti makes such great scarves...
ReplyDeleteDu vurderer det ikke i det hele tatt heller, eller? Oh well.
ReplyDeleteMy god, I would want to cut diamonds with those Zara pumps. I don't see them on the Zara page. Are they from an older season?
ReplyDeleteHave you tried any of those Ferragamo flats? Are they comfy? I've always felt they run a little narrow, but they do have the nicest loafers and ballet flats ever!
ReplyDeleteyou have a great eye for style! first off, i love the jacket. second, each of these outfits are the perfect mix of comfy chic. great post!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous styling! You have great taste in literature- my boyfriend just got a Camus quote tattooed on him. Have you heard that they are making The Bell Jar a movie?
ReplyDeleteCoucou! Are the Zara heels from the current collection? They look like the Helmut model from Christian Louboutin that I have been dreaming of for ages...
ReplyDeleteWhat about your stay in Paris?
Cheers!
- Alex: Thank you! I too would love to possess that shirt.
ReplyDelete- amalie: Thanks!
- Pret a Porter P: Ah, I know what you mean.. that must be acutely annoying. I am, however, not planning to get my hands on La Perla lingerie. They're simply out of my student budget!
- G: Thank you! I wish I had a cashmere scarf from Faliero Sarti, but I can't justify spending 300 euros on a scarf..
- Grace: No, those heels from Zara are from the current collection.
- Amanda: Yes, I have tried them on. They are extremely comfy and make your feet look acutely feminine in a good way (my style is pretty gamine but I love those particular flats!). Not sure if they run a bit narrow because I sometimes consider me feet rather narrow.
- coy colleen: Thank you! Effortless chic, that is!
- asha: Thank you. What's the quote he tattooed? Camus is genius. No, I haven't heard anything about a Plath-movie. OMG! I haven't read The Bell Jar yet, it's the next one on my list so I gotta read it before the movie hits the big screen.
- Nadia: Salut Nadia! Oui, those Zara heels are from the current collection. I'm going to Paris in two weeks. Are you still in Madrid?
Åå her var det mye fint!
ReplyDeleteAs a good french girl my favorite collage is obviously the 4th..because of the bottle of wine...
ReplyDeleteActually my real favorite is the last one, very Coppola-ish. You've got a great talent, your selections look every time perfect, & I really appreciate the fact that you have always in mind what you like and what means fashion for you.
awesome collages! I really like the idea. And the blazer is amazing <3
ReplyDeleteI love your collages - keep them coming, I love every single outfit!
ReplyDeleteHe had "At any street corner the feeling of absurdity can strike any man in the face" tattooed on him. You're right, Camus is a genius.
ReplyDeleteThat jacket just makes me melt. No intellectualisation needed :) I love the subtle echo of red in the fourth collage.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the comment.
ReplyDelete- Amd: Of course, haha. Making collages is a great way to filter out likes and dislikes. I'm having a hard time finding garments I like to create collages, so I see a certain pattern when it comes to selecting items for my collages.
- asha: Ingenius.
- lin: I second that!
Flawless jacket!

Next time we will try to meet in Paris!

I love it. I really admire your blog.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure our closets are twins;)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pairings. Your work pulling together this post is much appreciated. Many thanks, Ms. Mig
ReplyDeleteI've looked EVERYWHERE online for those Zara pumps...do you have a link to them?
ReplyDeleteMagnificent 'looks' - you are inspiring me more than you know.
ReplyDeleteI am in Australia and in the middle of a very hot summer - can you please do one or a couple of these collages with your summer looks? I'd really appreciate it. Also i'll be travelling to Europe this summer and need to start getting the 'essentials' together for my trip!
thanks and keep up your fantastic blog. So nice to see someone else out there who doesn’t want an overflowing wardrobe with sparkly clothes
M
loving all the boots, I think we have similar tastes!
ReplyDeleteLove these! Are the Kooples boots available anywhere? I can't see them on their website...Thanks! x
ReplyDeleteI loooooove those Zara pumps! If you have a link, please please please share!
ReplyDeleteBisous!
